For the Handy Little Boy

May 14th, 2011

My sons enjoy watching shows that use music to help teach them about different things in the world. For this reason, we are constantly searching our tv from www.ExpertSatellite.com in search of Handy Manny. Handy Manny is a show in which the main character uses his friends who are tools to fix problems people have around the neighborhood. The show is mainly about taking problems and solving them with the help of your friends. My boys enjoy watching it and then pretending to repair the various items around my house whether they need it or not. One of the episodes in particular dealt with Manny having to help his friend fix their house. At first, it seemed like it would be a large project for them to do but when they actually began to investigate the situation, all it required was a turn of a screw. It challenges kids to think about the whole picture rather than to just focus in on what they think is the problem. Adults can enjoy watching it too since the cartoon characters are constantly breaking out into song. You’ll soon find yourself singing along and chanting, “Let’s build it – let’s build it now.” Make plans to watch this show especially if you have a son who wants to grow up to fix everything he comes across.
