Memphis has tapped Josh Pastner to be Tigers’ new basketball coach. Pastner was formerly an assistant under John Calipari, who is now an ex-coach of Tigers. Bob Winn, the school’s athletics spokesman said that the university would announce the new appointment of Pastner at the news conference that is scheduled for noon Central Tuesday.

Calipari is Kentucky’s new basketball coach after spending nine seasons as the Tigers’ Coach.

Pastner is regarded to be a strong recruiter. He worked under Calipari for one year. Pastner was a former player and an assistant coach at Arizona.

Pastnre already has some credit. When he was an assistant to former Arizona coach Lute Olson, the Wildcats averaged 23 wins per season, captured two Pac-10 regular season titles, advanced to two NCAA Tournament regional finals and made six-straight NCAA Tournament appearances.

Controversial Terrell Owens, wide receiver of Dallas Cowboys was released from them (Dallas Cowboys) on Wednesday night.

According to MSNBC, “The Cowboys informed Owens that they had decided to go another direction Wednesday night, the Morning News reported. Owens played three seasons with the Cowboys. He received a $12 million signing bonus last year as part of a four-year, $34 million deal.”

Owens will have enough time to spend with sons Terique and Atlin. According to Ownes, they are his inspirations.

Today, the Cowboys decided to release Roy Williams, their No. 1 draft pick in 2002. Williams confirmed his release Thursday morning in a text message.

Accoding to dallasnews, “The Cowboys signed Williams to a $25 million extension on Aug. 2, 2006, that included an $11.1 million signing bonus, which at the time was the most in history for a safety. But Williams’ coverage skills became more of an issue over the last few years, something that he believed was a result in the change to the 3-4 scheme from the 4-3 system the Cowboys used when he was drafted out of Oklahoma.

I guess the Cowboys are getting controvial people.

It was reported by the associated pres that Dwyane Wade sued his estranged wife and two of her lawyers on Wednesday over accusations that the Miami Heat star contracted a sexually transmitted disease through an extramarital affair.

In the lawsuit, Wade is seeking at least $50,000 in damages from each defendant. Last month, Siohvaughn Wade said Wade infected her with a sexually transmitted disease in 2007. She later retracted the claim from the court hearing the divorce case for unspecified reasons.

Dwyane Wade said in a statement released to the AP that “It has been difficult to see false allegations, rumors and gossip repeatedly discussed in public about my personal life. I had no other choice but to file this action in order to clear my name.”

Dwyane and Siohvaughn Wade began dating as teens and continued their relationship through college. He starred at Marquette, leading his team to the Final Four before being drafted with the No. 5 overall pick in 2003 by Miami.

The couple married in 2002 and have two children, the older of whom was born three months before the wedding. Their second son was born in 2007.

This is a wierd case. Roberto Alomar, a former baseman in baseball, is sued by Ilya Dall, his ex-girlfriend. Ilaya is claiming that she contacted the deadly virus, AIDS from Alomar. She is suing him for $15 million, and she claims in the lawsuit that Roberto knew that he might had AIDS had unprotected sex with her.

Alomar’s lawyer, Charles Bach, wants the case to be thrown away. Bach said that, “We believe this is a totally frivolous lawsuit. These allegations are baseless,” Bach said. “He’s healthy and would like to keep his health status private. We’ll do our talking in court.”

Alomar retired from baseball in 2005 due to health reasons. During his 17 yrs career in baseball,he was a 10-time Gold Glove winner, played for San Diego, Toronto, Baltimore, Cleveland, the New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and Arizona, and was a .300 hitter with 210 homers and 1,134 RBI.

This is a warning for ladies. Run away from sport celebrities and approach them with caution as you approach regular guys.

Alex Rodriguez finally came clean about his steriod use. He sure did the right thing by coming clean about his use of steroids in his interview with Peter Gammons (I hope so because he lied in 2007′s 60minutes interview). But I don’t know where his bitterness for Selena Roberts, SI reporter, comes from. Oh, I forgot. She was the reporter that broke the story that he was using steroid. A-rod claims she is stalking him.

According to ESPN, From ESPN:

Rodriguez also criticized Sports Illustrated and said Selena Roberts, one of its reporters who covered the story, stalked him. He also accused Roberts of trying to break into his home last week while his two daughters were sleeping. Sports Illustrated released a statement, saying it “stands by the story and the professional manner in which it was reported. Selena Roberts is a distinguished journalist and her reporting in this case led to Alex Rodriguez’s admission that he used performance-enhancing drugs.”

Robert fired back saying, “the allegations made by Alex Rodriguez are absurd,” said Roberts. “I’ve never set foot in the lobby of Alex’s New York apartment building, never spoken to the University of Miami police, and never set foot on his home property or been cited by the Miami Police for doing so.”

Who is telling the truth or who is lying, only both of them know.
